Calling all programmers, writers, designers, project managers - EVERYONE at HighEdWeb! Help us give back to our host city of Portland, Ore., through Hackathon 2014. We'll join together to create a revamped user experience and revised content strategy for The Coalition for a Livable Future's Regional Equity Atlas. Fueled by food, beverages, music, prizes, and just the fun of a great project, we'll help overhaul the Regional Equity Atlas. Sign up to participate.

HighEdWeb Big Social Event: World Forestry Center

Traveling to Punch Bowl Social for the HighEdWeb Welcome Reception

Enjoy a short, five minute walk from the conference facilities to the HighEdWeb Welcome Reception at Punch Bowl Social. You’ll find good food, drink, games and great people.

How do I get there?
For the walker
- Gather in the Hilton Hotel lobby to find your HighEdWeb travel buddies.
- Exit the Hilton Hotel main entrance and turn left (north) along SW 6th Avenue.
- Walk three blocks north (past Taylor and Yamhill) to SW Morrison Street.
- Turn right on SW Morrison and follow it for two blocks, crossing SW 4th Avenue.
- Enter Pioneer Place Mall at the corner of SW Morrison and SW 4th Avenue (above the entrance you will see a Regal Cinema sign and an orange Punch Bowl Social awning).
- Once inside Pioneer Place Mall, take the escalators or elevator to the third floor.
- Look for the Punch Bowl Social entrance near the skybridge to the next building.

Traveling to the HighEdWeb Big Social Event at the World Forestry Center
6:30-10:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 21
We’re all taking Portland’s light rail MAX train to the World Forestry Center! Board either the MAX Red Line to City Center of the MAX Blue Line to Hillsboro train at the Pioneer Square North MAX Station.

Getting your train ticket
Pick up your complimentary rail pass Tuesday afternoon after the poster session at the registration desk outside of the Grand Ballroom.
Keep your pre-validated ticket with you as you travel to and from the event. On MAX, you only need to show your ticket if a Trimet official asks you for it.
Plan time for travel
Allow for about 20-30 minutes of travel time between the Hilton Hotel and the World Forestry Center. Trains run every 8 minutes.
Travel to the MAX station
At 6 p.m., gather in the Hilton Hotel lobby to find your HighEdWeb travel buddies and then:
- Exit the Hilton Hotel main entrance and turn left along SW 6th Avenue.
- Walk three blocks north (past Taylor and Yamhill) to SW Morrison Street.
- Go left on SW Morrison and you will have arrived at the Pioneer Square North MAX Station.
- Board either a MAX Red Line to City Center or MAX Blue Line to Hillsboro train
- Exit train at the underground Washington Park station.
- Coming off MAX train, turn to your right and head to elevators.
- Take elevators to surface, exit and cross the street to the World Forestry Center.
Returning to the Hilton
- Exit the World Forestry Center and cross the street to the MAX station.
- Take elevator down to train stop.
- Board either the MAX Blue Line to Gresham or MAX Red Line to Airport.
- Exit MAX at the Pioneer Square South MAX Station.
- Turn right out of the train.
- At the next street corner, turn right and proceed along SW 6th Avenue to the Hilton Hotel.
The last Red Line leaves Washington Park at about 10:17 p.m., and the last Blue Line leaves at about 11:54 p.m.
